THE WATSON'S

THE STORY SO FAR. ( as I know it)

The Watsons originate from the Cambridge area, namely, Cherry Hinton .

They were, and still are, (at least I am) a poor family. They were mostly farm labourers
and  woodcutters and although living in Cherry Hinton and Chesterton looked for work around  the cambridge area, indeed poor rebecca Watson and her children were in the Chesterton  workhouse during the 1841 census whilst husband John was working
elsewhere.By the 1851 census John had returned home, but sadly, Rebecca and son Frances had passed away.

Alfred Watson decided to join the army and enlisted in the 2nd Battalion,  Cameronians, Scottish Rifles, and whilst stationed at Hamilton, Glasgow, met, and  married, Margaret Tarleton, and so began the Scottish Dynasty.

So far, we have the Cadles, from England and Wales, the Watson's from England
and Scotland, now looking for an Irish connection....
